Day 35 - Monday 12th October - Ullapool to Skye

Heavy rain and wind in the night and first half of the day. We decided that we would travel down some of the Inner Hebrides over the next two weeks, having travelled up the Outer Hebrides in September. We set off for Torridon and  the Isle of Skye at lunch time, the weather cleared and the view down to Loch Torridon was superb. We drove over the Skye bridge and arrived at our eccentric, small, and quiet campsite in Ashaig at 5.30pm . Rain returned and we were content to spend the night in researching and reading respectively. Variable  wifi signal. Andy spent the night industriously booking ahead re campsites and ferries, as we are now in Scotland's fortnight schools half term. Miraculously (although it could change in the blink of an eye)  the weather on Skye looks like being dry, cold and sunny for a few days (my fourth visit and the first time without torrential rain and high winds).
