Wednesday 9th June 26 France to Portsmouth

 Very smooth crossing .  Portsmouth to home to start to recover. It was raining .

France Ouistreham Tuesday 8 th June 26;

poor Andy cut his head on the van cupboard . 

 We had a pizza before we left and got chatting to a couple at the next table, a seasoned female firefighter and her boyfriend who was a volunteer fire fighter. They had just moved in together. Ousireham was alive with concerts and people dressed in uniform to remember the  D Day  Landings 

France Monday 7 th June 26;

Visited the incredible  world citizens at war museum , truly excellent and walked around the grounds of the fortified castle and moved on to Ouistreham 

France Sunday 6;th June Tours to Falaise

France Tours Saturday 6 th June

Having moved to a live in permanent car park for the day  , (wouldn't recommend overnight , although we were kindly accepted for the day) we caught the tram into Tours after a 20 mins walk. We visited the 

The Centre de Création Contemporaine Olivier Debre , The Centre de Création Contemporaine Olivier Debre. Debre works not on show , so visited top floor for a visceral women's exhibition instead 

Tours  has an impressive bridge over the river Loire 

 Open squares , grand buildings  in Tours. We followed  the tourist  pavement line for an hour but got fed up after a while ! 

France Saturday 6 th June Non Tron to Tours France

 Bid adieu to Chris Yvette the dogs and the sheep m and drove to  Tours; we stayed overnight at a quiet Aire  in a commuter  village ( visited before)  a short train ride from Tours. Discovered no trains or buses running from the village over the weekend. So we  relaxed and stayed the night with plans to  move onto a city Aire the next day

France Friday 5 th June Non Tron to Village near Tours'

 

The  calf is still sore after a lot of scrubbing

France Cognac to Nontron , Bordeaux

 Visiting Andy's friends Chris and Yvette who retired here 10 years ago. They have 3 dogs, Pansy a French hunting dog ,Daisy a pretty Dascshund,  and Bertie, a wire haired Dachshund  who I fall deeply in love with every time we visit. Chris and Yvette make us very welcome.They have an outdoor pool which Andy and I enjoyed cooling off in
