Day 17 - Friday 25th September - Traigh na Clibhe, Uig, Lewis

We drove back over the switchback, and called in at the eagle observation centre. This was a walk of a mile up a good track through Gleann Mhiabaig (GR NB 1012 0626). It rained on us. The hide felt quite crowded, with six people in a shed not wearing masks. No eagles in evidence. The sun came out and we dried out on the walk back down.

We drove up to Stornoway and went to the Co-op to

replenish food stocks, then drove to the Uig area on the W coast. We looked at Cnip campsite by Reef beach. Camp site shut and some no overnight parking signs, so we went around the Bhaltos peninsula to a car park which did allow overnight camping, for a £5 donation. We parked next to a massive coachbuilt (9m?) MH, and tucked in for the night.
