Half hourly bus from campsite ( no 38) into Biarritz town. Paid by credit card, one card each needed . Showers and sunny intervals and a very cool wind. Casino in front of Le Grand Plage. Poke bowls at Coco Mango to the side of the Casino and up the hill , ordered and paid for online.
Impressive mosaic columns
Sorry we missed the food hall which was closed by the time we walked up the hill to reach it.Also missed the museum of Oriental Arts , considered the best out of Paris - too weary and cold and rained on to walk out of town. The shops are eye wateringly expensive.
Caught the bus back along the coast to the Aire Milady. The weather improved late afternoon.
We walked on an 8 K circular route from the Beach Milady up to and by/ around two lakes where we watched older sailors steering their model yachts on the first lake and runners and dog walkers circumnavigating the second lake. It was a very muddy boggy walk near the end of our circular walk through a woodland path and so felt relieved we chose to walk in an anti clockwise direction - our soaked trainers were only uncomfily soggy to walk in for a short while .
There was a bikers 5 day festival (Wheels and Waves) setting up in the field next to the Aire . Bikers were arriving , driving up and down the coast road until 12.30 am , fortunately it was quiet after that.
Deep Purple and Canned Heat listed to play at a local music festival this weekend, both at the bottom 😃 of the bill .
We felt relieved to be leaving tomorrow morning in search of quieter surroundings.
Biarritz is very smart and a surfers paradise in the Basque country.
