Tuesday 4th June Navarrenx

We spent most of the day relaxing at the campsite Beau Rivage, a small pretty private campsite 5 mins from the town with a  river running beneath it. Very clean , v friendly reception, lots of British there , cyclists with tents, we swam in the pool in the heat of the day and met the delightful Joel aged 4 and Josie aged 18 months playing in the water with mum and dad from near Stockport with a tandem that seated two toddlers and dad.

I was very tired today. Andy was disappointed that the Shakespeare inn in the sleepy  town (a  real ale pub) was closed  tonight due to 'unforseen circumstances'.

The town walls were decorated with photographs of hikers passing through the town

We found a permissive path down to the Weir and derelict mill. A young couple with 3 dogs were down there. The dogs ran at us and barked but did not bite (thankfully)

You can see the start of the photos behind these statues of Camino pilgrims
