Chateau de Losse- a few km out of Montignac on the road to Sarlat - it had tranquil gardens and a well appointed house, the occupant was well rewarded for their loyalty to the King in the 100 years war.

This was a fantastic last minute decision to visit Le Conquil, the troglodyte rock caves/ shelter system, over the bridge from St Leon
Village inhabitants would hide out in the caves when invaders passed through , and with a system of pulleys and ropes, this was originally a drawbridge which could be pulled up to cast the unwitting soldier far below.
