Day of rest.Coffee and crumble with HK brother Jan Erik and wife Daghild. Drive up into the forest with HK and Helen where there are miles of lakes. We walked along a very narrow path full of twisted roots to the fishing hut on a huge lake (Eidsmangen) A recluse suffering from MH issues , Erling Vensen rented it for a number of years and lived there throughout the seasons , only cycling down into Våler to purchase food stuffs and living by fishing. When he died the residents from other cabins on the lake put together a sum to build a fishing shelter in his name, here is a wistful poem he wrote . The hut costs 500NOK per week to rent and has a large lounge, kitchen and dining area with bottled gas and sleeping quarters for 4 people.Long drop toilet nearby.
