Walk up to the lighthouse and German WW2 bunker installation above the campsite at Hirtshals before we set off for the Colorline 3 hour ferry sailing at 12.45 pm 5 mins drive away. Brand new luxurious ferry , lots of walking round and sheltered outdoor sunbathing areas. Sea was like glass.

Drove to Sanjeford , camping Granholem with sea inlet swimming from several jetties. Buoys marked off the safe swimming area from the jet skis and motorboats zooming up and down. Friendly camp site managers owner called Kurt and Inger.GSOH
Birthday party was in progress outside the reception/ pub when we arrived for 8-11 year olds , with pizza provided ( recommended )We didn't recognise the birthday anthem , but it was so sweetly sung by the group of young girls that we applauded loudly afterwards.We swam in the sea(15 degrees ) in sunshine. Stunning scenery.
Watched the first episode of Shane Meadows The Gallow Poles on TV catch up with my favourite actor Michael Socha in the lead.Great start to a 3 part series !
