We cycled around Elverum, visited the Stave church on the city centre outskirts stocked up on food just off the cycle path by the campsite and visited the Norskmuseum. We called in at a lake between Eleverum and Valer for a blissful swim in late afternoon sunshine.More details below.
It's a beautiful swimming spot on the Størsåsjoen lake, our favourite ❤️We changed discreetly in the meeting area , there are changing rooms and long drop toilets nearby too.
The Glomma down stream from the campsite in Elverum
Lots of room at Eleverum campsite , v friendly reception manager
Quiet spot right by the river
The stave church. Andy held the bikes whilst I went exploring inside.
Warm and welcoming atmosphere
Rainy cycle path ride out from the campsite towards the centre, we found a very impressive play park , Amila our 2 year old grand daughter , would have liked these slides😊
Pleasant warm showers at the campsite after exploring Eleverum in the morning Andy persuaded me not to swim from the campsite itself as the river Glomma had fast flowing currents in parts .We moved the van to the open air section of the Norsk Skogsmuseum and appreciated a tour of the extensive exhibition on Romany people in Norway in the basement..

We visited the indoor forestry museum next and called in at Størsåsjoen lake for our delightful swim on the way back to Vesterhaugen and a few more days staying with Helen and Hans Kristian Andy's sister and brother in law.
