Day 37 Thursday 19th June Våler

Andy and I walked around Sorsassjoen lake  (5km)  and Andy went for a short  swim afterwards. I  decided not to,  as I was feeling shy.  A large party of young students were on the beach having a barbecue to celebrate their end of term.

We found an area where there was bright red lichen - no idea why.

Our route around the lake

Lichen
Ant hill.

Sheds for community gatherings (it belongs to the hunting and fishing club)

Helen invited Magnus and Anniken and  Marcus and Matthias over for tea today. We reported back and thanked Magnus for his route recommendations on our trip up North

Anniken and I chatted about films and TV , she is a nurse and is due to return to work beginning  of August after major hip surgery. Marcus  and Mattias are going to their maternal grandmother's for the weekend tomorrow ( schools break up today in Norway) enabling.Magnus and Anniken to go to a local weekend  country folk festival in Elverum where they live.

Pleasant catch up with Magnus and Anniken over tea

Watched the man baling grass outside with fascination. He worked late.

Helen and HK have been fantastic generous and knowledgeable hosts. It's the very busiest time for them  and yet they have made sure we were fed watered and  saw family members. They will not be forgotten  It's not been the journey itself most memorable for me, it's the people .
