Found a Spa store partially open on a Sunday.at 12 .30 pm en route to stock up on basics .
Large sea Fjords, pristine farms , industrial areas and signs of tunneling through rock in evidence on the 2 hour drive Dry , cloudy , ever present cool wind .
Settled at Holmset campsite. Wi fi for campsite called - 'but you can still talk to each other' Manager has GSOH. and is very caring . Kyaks and bikes can be borrowed for free. River is tidal and swimmable. Cabin shelters with fire pits (75NOK for dry wood and accelerant ) No nearby accessible walks sadly . Mountain walk across the road from the campsite has lots of very boggy sections to wade through. Fishing is popular here . 300NOK. Campsite manager works as a commissioning officer on an oil platform in the winter , two week on,4 weeks off , goes travelling in her time off. Living on the campsite in winter is just too cold . Been here 19 years
Beautiful pitches . TranquilSpent afternoon reading.( Tide out )
Forests and skies
And reflections
Getting the fire going . The Finnish family in the next fire pit cabin loaned us their lighter
There we go , fire at last. We met Andy , from the Solent who returned at 9 pm to collect his boots left in our fire pit shelter whilst he went kayaking on the peaceful river. We got into conversation on his return.A recently retired engineer based in air traffic control starting to get involved in climate action. Son lives in Minnesota.a truck driver.
