After breakfast and checking out of the Marlin hotel , I visited the Dublin Buddhist Centre and listened to talks by Sadayasihi ( second left) and Vajrasura (second from right) describing their heart- felt efforts to build the first Triratna Buddhist retreat centre in Tipperary. I persuaded the teaching team to gather for a photo during the refreshment break. They gave me a very warm welcome.
I rejoined Andy and we walked for 40 minutes along the Liffey to the Museum of Modern Art. I appreciated the retrospective exhibition of Patricia Hurl paintings entitled ' Irish Gothic' (https://www.irishexaminer.com/lifestyle/artsandculture/arid-41100931.html)'This is the way '..( for other Mandalorian fans out there )
Self portrait by Patricia Hurl ( now aged 80 )
We caught the 69 bus for the last bumpy ride past the Guinness warehouse, winding our way through the outlying estates to the Camac Valley campsite ; we boarded outside the Kilmainham gaol ( tickets to visit the gaol were sadly booked up a week ahead when we arrived😔 ) A restful night in the van. I read the autobiography ' Things your grandmother should know ' by Mark Everitt , lead singer of 'the Eels' an indie rock group we went to see at Nottingham's Rock city last Sunday . This was E's first night of a world tour for four years ( the tickets were a second birthday present from Andy) ' E' is an amusing character on stage , his music is melodic (mainly) and his lyrics are poetry and deeply heart felt. Every ticket in England and Ireland has sold out .He has a very loyal fan base.
