Sad to leave
my beautiful natural lake behind at Sanabria
Moved to a campsite only a year old on the hillside over looking the Duoro Valley
It had a swimming pool and restaurant and brand new ( cold) showers . We walked down to the dam below and watched a cruise ship navigate one of the locks, taken by two men playing with a baby near the rails . Friendly retired motorhomer called Barry from Sheffield was staying there too , he lives near Lisbon with his Portuguese wife and visited us Saturday evening
He is a p/ t TEFL teacher and gave us lots of helpful tips re where to camp next.
Swimming pool dangerously slippy , not cleaned regularly enough to keep algae at bay. Very friendly receptionist Anna who spoke excellent English was very helpful , give this woman a pay rise , she seemed to be doing everything.
