Day 12

Day 12 Sunday Drove to Royan and took the ferry across the bay to Le Verdon, to avoid having to drive through the city of Bordeaux . Sunny . Royan deserted , ferry took half hour , Stayed in La Palmyre on the coast , in a forest by a windsurfing /kite surfing centre, the swimming beach 10 mins away on cycle route through forest and along coast Visited le phare( the lighthouse ) cycling in the opposite direction , third biggest lighthouse in France , cycle path 5km- lighthouse fascinating! museum too ...walked up 300 stairs 62 m high for views of beach and forest Returning on coastal path ride , coming back from beach , tipped off path by family on 4 seater cycle, soft sand, more bruises Pleasant quiet Aire surrounded by trees.
