Early morning swimming when the sea in the bay is much calmer
Huge cruise ship moored in the bay at Cannes

Caught the bus into Cannes  late afternoon -15 mins walk from campsite  to bus stop, we used our phones to pay fares. Walked around the  back street shops  for a short while and had a drink on the  front on the Boulevard de Croisettes. Mipcom, a conglomeration of streaming TV studios was having a  large conference on the front outside the Majestic hotel.Their  3 day programme was mostly about working with AI . Lots of Korean presentations

There was a stair case lined with a red carpet in front of the conference arena overlooking the beach with barricades around it . 3 actors were being photographed; they  stood  half way up  (the premier of a new series  'the Miniature wife' - Peacock Studios). The actress was tiny , as demanded in the role I guess. Security was tight, babies were walking around in army fatigues holding semi automatic  guns, so we didn't hang around . The crowd was shouting Ajou! Or Adieu ! at the posing actors,  who all  looked a little uncertain. We couldn't work out what. Lots of media peeps milling around  talking earnestly to each other. Everyone dressed in black or grey.

Having swum twice and then  slept fitfully last night , I was very tired today.  We caught a bus back €1.80 which was crowded and filled with coughs, splutters and sneezes. Standing room only. I toppled  into two seated  passengers when the driver went  sharply around a roundabout.  One of them, a young woman, kindly ( and wisely ) offered me her seat. It felt a little embarrassing. Although I was very tired, I couldn't get to sleep again until 1.45 am. A very quiet campsite  nonetheless. Clean, showers good , prone to occasional very, very hot bursts of water.
