We spent the day wandering about in Nantes, including visiting the botanical gardens, and the museum of art.
This sculpture is 6m highand made from local wood. It has ater trickling from the figure's mouth, so it's expected it will be colonised by mosses and plants in time.
We ended up taking the water bus out to a district called Chantenay, which is being revamped after industry closed down. There's a quarry which has been repurposed as a 'surprise garden', featuring a waterfall and use of the granite cliffs for climbing, with lots of bolts, and via ferrata.

Nice pics!
ReplyDeleteThe climbing crag looks good. Is it actually in Nantes? Fantastic resource for the city if so.
